Hollywood Glamour is all about a beautiful and unique lifestyle that looks like it cost an arm and a leg. So we suggest whenever you are trying to achieve the impossible, always think outside the box.
A Hollywood tree for free, is our unique, stylish and simple way to have a taste of festive flavour with what is from the earth instead of costing the earth.
Go for a long walk in the countryside and take in the vista, collecting as many pine-cones, nuts, red Berry's, twigs and large Autumn leaves you can find along the way.
Spray paint the foliage Gold and Silver then leave outside to dry. Next you will need something shiny, red and gold to lay on the floor and we suggest an Indian Sari, always easy to pick up in the local charity shop, for next to nothing.
Place the sari on the floor where you want the tree sculpture to stand, then take the silver and gold twigs you made earlier, to create a pile, almost like a bonfire, standing as high as you would like. Now take you're old Christmas lights and just like you would normally with a tree, drape them around the sculpture and switch on. Take the rest of the painted nuts, cones etc to scatter them on to the Sari and all over you're wrapped gifts. Not only will you absolutely love it, we guarantee everyone who comes into the room will be green with envy.
If you have any old decorations left over from last year, add them to the sculpture with hand made chocolates displayed in a dish close by. Check out the credit crunch hand made chocolate recipe below.
6oz dark or semi sweet chocolate½ teaspoon cinnamon1 ½ teaspoons butter½ cup sweetened condensed milk½ teaspoon vanilla.
Melt chocolate, butter and cinnamon in a double boiler (or microwave), then add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla. Stir all ingredients until they are thoroughly blended. Pour the mixture into a shallow bowl and chill (covered) for 2 hours or more. Form into small balls (about walnut size) and roll in colored sugar or sprinkles. Chill until hard. Enjoy!
